The Samboni and the Rink

Somewhere between christmas and New Year's my brother, Brad, masterminded the construction of a hockey rink on his property. Many, many people tirelessly pitched in to help build and maintain the rink and skate shack, not the least of whom was my father, Sam, our friend Colin, and many other of Brad and Jenn's friends.

Here are some pictures from the day that Darryl and I went out to the property to help build the skate shack with Colin (our tireless foreman).

Also included are pictures of the Zamboni (or Sam-boni, as it was dubbed) that my father built to flood the rink.

I've been Remiss

This I understand. It seems as if things got away from me a little bit after Christmas. I'd like to offer some sort of reasonable explanation for this, however, there really isn't one.

I more or less stopped taking pictures with the very occasional exception, and as such didn't feel compelled to blog a whole lot. I hope to turn over a new leaf with the coming of spring and the things that come along with it.

Spring, of course, is my very favorite time of the year. It seems that every warm day that further diminishes the snow and encourages growth screams "hope" to me. I'm very big on hope; hope for the future, hope that even the worst of our circumstances can be transcended, and most importantly an eternal hope found in Jesus. May this spring encourage you, whatever they may be.
