12, 20, and 25 weeks respectively

The Gang

This weekend marked our annual "Meet in the Middle" get together with friends. Darryl and I went down to the Dueck's house along with five other couples and their kids for a potluck supper. Fun times had by all - and with three more babies (that we know of ) on the way, the kids will officially be matching the number of adults next year! Thanks gang, it was a blast - see you camping this summer!

New Beginnings

It's been quite a while since I posted on my blog...there's been a lot going on in the Sparling household as of late.
Just before we left for Boston, we found out that we were expecting a baby. This discovery came with much happiness, but also much trepidation. We kept our secret for nearly three months, until we were absolutely sure that baby was as healthy and happy as could be. It is with great joy that we were able to announce our pregnancy to friends and family in October 2010.
As for our Boston trip – I was sick the entire time. Really sick. So much so that I declined to discuss the trip for at least two months afterwards because the thought of being in the East made me want to vomit. Nothing against the Eastern seaboard, but that was the worst trip of my entire existence based on the simple facts that I felt like sleeping most of the day and throwing up for the rest of it.
Thankfully, I am feeling reasonably well at this point in the pregnancy. Aside from some issues with my mood, the worst I’ve had to deal with is difficulty sleeping at night and some swollen feet. Today marks 25 weeks gestation and the third trimester is fast approaching. Our spare room is emptied of all its contents, and it’s time to paint the walls and shampoo the carpets. I expect we’ll be setting up a crib sometime in the next month and a half and that will really make this adventure start to seem real.
The above picture is of Baby Sparling and was taken right before Christmas. It was my second trip the ultrasound tech since baby was moving so much the first time they couldn’t get a good shot of him! And yes, it is a him J
We are so thankful God’s grace and for the support of family and friends as we start this new chapter of our lives. More to come, I’m sure…
